Susanne Atwell-Keister Senior Organic Chemist
Ms. Atwell-Keister joined Caliber Analytical Services as an experienced environmental chemist. Five of her seven years of organic analytical chemistry experience were spent under the direction of Mr. Shane.

Susanne brings the qualifications CAS requires in its employees to fulfill its corporate mission. Her cross-training in organic extractions and analyses allows her to be efficient in the lab’s multi-task environment. Her skills with analytical instrumentation coupled with her experience with software technologies make Susanne an invaluable asset to CAS. At CAS Susanne is largely responsible for semi-volatile organic extractions and analyses including TPH, Pesticides/Herbicides, PCBs, and SVOCs.

Mary Beth Lysse Senior Inorganic Chemist
Ms. Lysse joined Caliber Analytical Services as an experienced inorganic chemist. She has ten years of laboratory experience covering all facets of metals digestions and analytical techniques ranging from flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (FLAA) to ICP-MS.

Before joining CAS, Mary Beth spent seven years in supervisory roles for an environmental laboratory and a city water quality laboratory, where she became intimately familiar with a variety of inorganic and aquatic toxicology methodologies. Throughout this experience she developed the skills with analytical instrumentation, software tools, and quality control that will allow CAS to continue to improve upon the fast-response, quality service our customers have come to expect. Her skills, coupled with her energetic attitude, provide a valued addition to CAS’s inorganic services.

Mary Beth is largely responsible for trace metals analyses utilizing the Agilent 7500ce ICP-MS.

Jenny Li GC-MS Analytical Chemist
Ms. Li joined Caliber Analytical Services to provide additional support for the high-volume VOC section of our laboratory. Her seventeen years of organic analytical chemistry experience is a valued addition to CAS’s extensive GC and GC-MS expertise.

Jenny’s experience with volatile organic compounds (VOC) analyses by GC-MS allows CAS to provide the quality, fast-response service our customers expect. She has also been cross-trained in the protocols for organic extractions and analyses, which allow her to be efficient in the lab’s multi-task environment.

Jenny is largely responsible for volatile organic compounds analyses including full suite VOCs in soil, groundwater, and drinking water matrices.

Andrea Castillo Analytical Chemist
Ms. Castillo joined Caliber Analytical Services as a part time lab technician in the Spring of 2008, her junior year at Towson University. After completing her BS degree in Chemistry with high honors in May 2009, we were extremely pleased to have Andrea join our staff as a full time chemist. She has mastered all of the organic extraction procedures we employ, and is currently responsible for the analyses of Purgeable Aromatics and Gasoline Range Organics by GC PID/FID. She will continue to cross-train on all the GC methods performed at CAS, and provide the backup that will ensure the uninterrupted quality services our customers have come to depend on.

Andrea was rewarded for her research on phosphanyl(organyl) boranes (POBs) with a trip to Capitol Hill to present a research poster for the 2009 Council of Undergraduate Research.
